but most try to stay under 60c to be safe thats probably what he meant.

I have 1.52volts for 3.74ghz

6xxx's can do up to 1.55volts and 71c
LOL got a blue screen of death just as I was reading your post.. I upped the Vcore Voltage to 1.475v, gonna see how this runs for now.. I am afraid of how high my temp will go when I start using my music software... which in other words will put the same pressure on my cpu as gaming would.

Im idle at 52-52 now ... I wonder how hot I will get.. I have 3 120mm fans all set to the highest speed possible. 2 of them are my vacuum ..blowing air out the back of my antec case.

BTW where are you getting that 1.4v is very dangerous? If you have a good cooler you can safely take it up to 1.5v... And even Intel says that the max voltage is 1.55v, so it's still in the safe zone according to Intel.

wow 1.55? when i said everywhere else i meant from what my brother who this pc used to belong to and a couple of friends who did computer science at university told me. and very dangerous was an exageration lol
im probably gonna stay at 3.24ghz anyway since its a 35% overclock on a corsair 450W power supply and i dont know much about how much extra wattage a overclock can use.
all i know is that corsair say that this psu can handle my cpu and gpu overclocked at 30% quote "easily"
