upgrading to WC :o

Thread Starter
Hey all, I've decided that I want to take on a WC upgrade as a project for the summer while I wait for classes to start again in the fall. Iv been reading lots of posts and am starting to get an idea of what to do, however I will not do this without advice from you guys. I'm gonna try and work around a budget of $300 to cool my CPU and GPU. But <$300 would be wonderful! I have all my specs in my sig and nothing is going to be changing anytime soon. Also is it possible to make the coolant nontransparent? I would like to make the tubes a thick yellow that looks like a solid plastic tube, not liquid. Not sure if that made sense lol.

So any advice on parts would be appreciated. I'm going to continue to read guides and how to's in the morning.

Thanks

Something like this, if it goes over a little you can always buy used parts or look for it on sale somewhere...Comparison shop, even paying extra for shp you can come out ahead sometimes...

CPU...D-tek Fuzion V2

Pump..D-5

Rad...BIX 360

Fans.86cfm Pana.I like these better on a BIX..115 Pana-S/W..Shrouds will help with that rad to...

..How To: Make any Sized shroud in 2 minutes

..Poll: Push or pull configuration for Radiators

..Part 1- Temp's with and with-out shrouds

Tubing..7/16x5/8".Use it on 1/2" barbs it will flow about as well as the full size stuff and is a little more compact and fits the barbs tighter....

Coolant.Pentosin..Biocide...PT Nuke

Zip-ties or automotive clamps for each barb...Go with all 1/2" barbs...

I'll leave you some stuff to read and my cleaning and set up PDF...Read all the stickies here to, theres a lot of good info in them...

..Assembling your Custom Watercooling Setup

..Bleeding my WC setup..

..D-Tek Fuzion install tip! (Or why you should clean new blocks)

..PC Water Coolant Chemistry - Part I

..Cooling - An In-Depth Look

EDIT: Forgot the res..DD 5 1/4" Bay Reservoir.Or just use a t-line...
