I agree, normally boards with a lot of extra crap on them that is not needed by most people tend to overclock like crap and have a lot of problems. Which is the same reason why the real simple boards like the DFI's tend to overclock way better than the really bloated boards like most of the expensive ASUS boards.

Yeah but what fun is that when you got a side view case and no super sweet board to show out with ?

So far the highest FSB on the dual core Wolfdales are from the ASUS P965 chipset board (which doesnt make sense and is quite suprising).

I dont think the metal on top of the board has much to do with the OC potential. I think it has to do with how well the board circuitry is laid out.

But I know what you mean about the ASUS cooling. My Maximus Extreme has the chipset and mosfets all connected into one. So I had to spend a lot of extra $$ just so I could WC the NB. I ended up having to WC the SB/crosslink as well, and buy the Thermalright mosfet heatsinks. I would have prefered just slapping the MCW 30 on the NB and leave everything else stock.

Gaudiest board I've ever seen.

Should sell them at a discount with no cooling at all, so people can add their own.
