E6850

Thread Starter
Hi.

I'm wondering why there is not much threads on this forum about this processor.

Is it bad? Ive looked through the last 20 pages and probably only seen 2-3 threads about this. Ive seen 100+ Q6600 threads and 30+ E8400's

Is this processor bad? Ive ordered it, didn't have the extra money to get a E8400. But it has the same ghz as E8400.

So wheres all the talk about this processor? Is this awesome for gaming, better than Q6600 for gaming? what would the highest stock overclock on this card be. I just have stock cooling and i wanna try get 3.6ghz, 4 in the winter possibly.

It's a pretty good CPU. A number or reviewers on Newegg have gotten their E6850s to reach 4.0GHz, which isn't shabby at all.

It´s a quite good one, think of it as a better binned E6600.

I have one and I can do 3,8 with it and 400 9 3,6 or 450 8 3,6 at 1,425 - 1,45 and about 60C with a Zalman 9700 Led@1350rpm (ambient roomtemp ~21).

Give me a PM if you want to.

its a great CPU but now that the E8400 is out most people go for that option since it overclocks better than the E6850. The E6850 is getting old but still dam good. If you go way back you will see lots of E6850/E6750/E2180 and Q6600 CPU threads.

I wouldn't agree with that across the board. There are most definitely some E6850 chips out there that are better than some E8400s. Due to the voltage sensitivity of the E8400, I'd say the 2 are nearly equal.

I have both an E6850 and an E6750....both are great chips. I haven't had the time to see which chip clocks better, though.
