Another timing question

Thread Starter
My G.SKILL 2x2gb DDR2-1000 kit is supposed to get here today from newegg and I just had one more question. Besides the main timings (5-5-5-15-2t), are there any others that will have an effect on how the memory will overclock? There are quite a few other timings on my 680i board that are all set to auto. Also, has anyone had any luck running these at 1t?

You will have to bump the voltage the higher you go eventually. Some motherboards have a ridiculous amount of options for RAM timings, but the first 4 timings give you the most change. The others do, but not too noticeable in the real world, more like small tweaks.

I never tried 1T timing, good luck with that

:EDIT: I have read on OCN that that last number (TRAS) should be as high as it can go for stability. It won't affect your speed much if at all. TRAS is a timing that has little effect on performance, but has a huge effect on the maximum stable speed your RAM can run. We recommend always using the slowest (highest number)

tRC is the one you should tweak other then they you have stated above.

You can read about it here and also the other timings, note that is done with 2x1Gb and don´t know if you can use it on 4x1 but you can try.
