Quick help with 3.6 stable ~

Thread Starter
Hey guys need a couple of opinions on workin my new board up to 3.6 stable.
3.4 stable was easy as pie...
1.32vcore
1.4 FSB
2.0 on ram
1.4 on NB
1.5 on SB
NB = SB auto
Ram linked and synced with the board putting it at 750mhz something
with 5-4-4-12 timings.

Now ive got up to 400x9 and not much of a change around the board...
1.41vcore
1.4 FSB
2.0 Ram, board sets it at an even 800mhz 5-4-4-12 Timings 2T still....
1.4 NB
1.5 SB
NB = SB Auto

Boots fine and runs a few games fine, but then.......
Into Prime95 i go and it will run through about 10 test batches which is about 10-15 minutes and then i get a hard lock. No errors from Prime just a freeze up and i have to reboot. I'm not too sure where its gasping for power at.

I set the FSB and NB on Auto to see what voltages the board would like to give it and the board still gave each 1.4 FSB and 1.4 NB. Do you guys think those are okay settings, or should i give the FSB a 1.5 or NB 1.5. Or...... You guys think the cpu still needs more volts passed 1.41 for 3.6oc ?
My Temps on cpu are 39-40-42-40 Idle and under load my temps are
68-68-69-67 This is with "Core Temp" which i know always scales high.
I always like looking at Real Temp more I know its better for 45nm and mines only a 65nm but w/e.
Also my NB chipset temps about 55C in Bios. Not sure what it is in windows because i havent been able to find a temp monitor to watch it in stress mode.

If any of you guys can help me out i would greatfully appreciate it. Feel free to ask questions and thanks for the help in advance...

here are my settings for 3.6:

BIOS settings:
CPU Config:
Disable C1E State
Disable Execute Disable Bit
Disable Virtualization Technology

Standard CMOS:
Disable 1.44 Floppy (Unless you actually have one and need it for RAID drivers)

Advanced:
Disable HPET

Voltages:
Memory 2.1 V

CPU Voltage:
1.48125

Other voltages:
CPU FSB: 1.4v
Nforce SPP: 1.4v
Nforce MCP: 1.525v
HT Nforce SPP: 1.25V

FSB/Memory:

Memory clock mode Linked & Synchronous
FSB/QDR: Set to 1600 (400 FSB)
For cpu multiplier 9x.

i think you need more volts.

no, not at all. 1.300. From what i can tell, that is pretty high VID. But, i didn't have problems getting to 3.6. (i had to RMA some ram and get a new PSU, but after that it was smooth sailing.)

LOL, okay i'll take your guys word for it and try vcore a few more notches.... im running out of headroom though on Air. Theoretically it shouldnt take that much more vcore... i'll try 1.42 then 1.43 if that doesnt get me prime stable for a couple hours then i'll just stay at a 3.4oc 24/7.
Thanks for the help

don't mean to hijack this thread... just touched a issue i've been dealing with for a while..

I have a E7200 Wolfdale that i'm currently running @ 3.6...
I've had it up to 3.9.. but HWMonitor said temps during Prime 95 were ~64C...Core Temp read the same thing...

On the other hand, when i run Real Temp (which is hear is more accurate for 45nm processors) i get a reading of 10C LOWER and get more like ~55C...

My tuniq tower runs ICE COLD on the copper pipes and when i can reach all the way down to the base of the thing and not feel any heat from the cpu... And my antec 900 case has PLENTY of cooling... id be surprised if my case temp ever exceeds 25C..

Which temp software is tellin the truth? It all seems affected by the TjMax Value...
