CLICK THIS LINK FIRST TO FIND THE COMPUTER I AM TALKING ABOUT

Do not refer to my sig rig, its already vista'ed. Ok basically after reading that will that laptop run vista 64bit or 32bit better? Or should I stick with xp? I can go any way on this as I have discs for all but I am worried about only having 1gb of memory but at this time thats all it will have. Main uses is internet, printing, and playing the sims2.

I am doing a reinstall tomorrow so please which should I go with.

Intel Core2 Duo Mobile Processor T7100 supports Intel EM64T feature, so yo can install Vista x64 and 32-Bit on it.

Yes it would run either of those; I would go with the 32 bit since you only have 1 GB of RAM.

Edit: The laptop in my CP runs Vista x86 just as well as it runs XP so if you install the 32-bit Vista I think you will be happiest.

Before you decide, go to the laptop manufacturer website (Dell?) and see if Vista drivers are available for all of the components.

That said, 1gb of ram might be a little bit low for Vista (either 32 or 64 bit). If you can upgrade it to 2gb of ram, you'd be better off. If you can add a 2nd gig of ram to it, then go for Vista x64. Otherwise, I'd stick with XP.

No chance of upgrade right now, its a ***** to change out on this laptop, you have to remove the keyboard to get to second stick. Also this laptop is less than a year old and I don't want to mess with it. My wife wants vista, I think it will drag her machine down. Yes there are actually better drivers for vista on this laptop than their are xp drivers. I chose xp on her laptop, just so it would be cheaper.

Ya know, worst case, you could get a Readyboost compatable USB thumb drive (I believe most thumb drives are). All you do is plug in a USB thumb drive and a dialog box pops open asking if you want to use it for Readyboost. A 2gb stick will only run you ~$20. It won't be the speed of real ram, but it would help.
