PA120.3 patern

Thread Starter
Is this patern enough for a professional aluminium cutter (i don't know the exact name of the job but you get the point) to cut a TJ07 on the top so that a PA120.3 can fit nice & tight?

It should be since it has all your fan holes and barbs marked out on it...I'd just take them that and the template and let them look at both, just to make sure...You would want to keep the cuts a little to the inside of the edges to make sure its tight...

The TJ07 won't fit a PA120.3 in the roof without blocking off a load of the motherboard.

A thin rad like a Black Ice GTS or an XSPS RS will only just fit, even then it covers a bit of the board.

Yeh I was given a TJ07 to mod last week, they wanted a 240mm rad in the roof.
I used an XSPC RS240 which is pretty much the same thickness as the Black Ice GTS.

I had to drill out some rivets which hold a little support bracket in place on the top left corner of the removable tray in order to make that rad + 25mm fans fit, I dread to think how much of the mobo a Thermochill plus fans would cover!

I might have not been clear enough, but when i wrote "on the top of a TJ07" i meant outside the top of the case, not inside. In other words, the setup will not be 100% enclosed in the case but the cpu rad will be out of it. I am aware that TJ07 comes with 2x120mm fans inside of the top (exhaust fans); i'm not removing them, i just need to cut the top a bit more, so that i can put another exhaust fan from inside the top.

Well, i don't know if you understood me, here's a pic of the early concept:
http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...ck-needed.html

The differences in the final loop (not posted anywhere, it's in the papers) is that the top rad is 120.3 so that its burbs come close to the D5 and that 1st loop is cpu + mosfets only, while 2nd loop (with pa120.3 on the bottom of the case) is gpu+nb+sb. Also the fans on the top are push/pull (inside top fans pushing, pa top rads pulling).

PS: Thanks for the warning btw, noone would like to pay 400 euros to see that the parts are not compatible .
