SLI problem with Asus P5N32 -E SLI

Thread Starter
A friend of mine has just bought my two 8800GTX's and cannot seem to get SLI to work on his ASUS P5N32 E SLI.

No matter what I have suggested, nothing gets the PC to recognise the second card, even in device manager. The PSU is a Thermaltake Toughpower 850w...

I have suggested swapping the cards around, checking SLI bridge... EVERYTHING! Drivers included.

Need more suggestions now guys. The one card is working fine, he has tested both in the main slot and they work. It seems as if the board cannot see what is in the other PCI E slot.

I don't know what to tell you. I've got two cards running in SLI on that board and all I had to do was plug them in and put on the bridge.

I have asked him to check to see if the cards work in the secondary SLI slot.

This might sound retarded, and I'm not implying anything towards you, but have you made sure both cards are in the blue slots? that both are receiving power? and that the sli bridge is connected?

Also, check the overclocking portion of the motherboard, I think I saw something about SLI in there.

Maybe update the drivers as well? Both my 8 series cards work perfect in SLI under the latest bios.

Thankyou and he cant test the other slot anyway because you need a card in the first.

Both cards fans are spinning and he has swapped around all pwoer cables and the cards are still being powered.

Something about SLI in BIOS then?
