[Wired] In-Game ads for PS3 - Page 3

I like the ads in 2142 honestly, i find the placement funny. However i want to see games cheaper or the continuation of no online-play-fees because of this.

If they fit it, I have absolutely no problem with it. It's when ads start becoming more and more overt that they get annoying.

One example is GH3. It's like the game goes out of the way to explain that the truck I'm filming a music video on is a Pontiac truck. And Axe guitars? Seriously? Those types of ads annoy me.

The billboards on Need for Speed didn't bother me that much, it was only annoying a little when I noticed that almost all of them were for Burger King. No, I really don't want a Whopper and these ads will never change that.

BF2142 installs spyware? I must have missed that bit of news. Not suprised though it is an EA game.

The ads won't bother me as long as they fit the scenario; I'll be mad if I see an ad that just doesn't fit, like the "Intel Core 2 Dou" billboard ad in that downloadable Highway map for BF2.

Since when are there billboard ads for C2D in the middle of the desert in the Middle East?

And Sony better be reinvesting all the money they'll be making from the ads back into the PS3 and the PS3 community; they better not just pocket it.

I disagree with you also. Having a Dell XP computer sitting in the game (FEAR) rather than a generic looking computer does no harm to my gaming experience. In fact, it might even improve it by adding realism to it. Now maybe if they had an add pop up before the game that had to be viewed 5 seconds before the menu would load, then that would make me SUPER BITTER.
