I prefer X48 for the full PCI-E bandwidth when in CF.

or you could get a cheaper p45 MB and get a HD3870 X2 card if you dont have them already for about the same price you buy 2 single 3870s... and use the cheaper DDR2 RAMS I have not seen where the DDR3 is better for price vs proformance, wait about a week or two in the (US) and the new Asus P5q deluxe (p45) which people are getting over 460-500 FSB OC on the board with the e8400 and selling for around 220.00 usd. or in EU selling now http://www.sallandautomatisering.nl/

Not much different between them other than the price. I would go for X38/X48 if you need a board right now. Most likely, P45 needs few BIOS before mature.

No brainer x48/x38 16x16x. Better bios. P45 kinda unneeded unless its targeted to be a budget board.
