Yay my pc just died!!

Ok so i'm on my sig rig up until a few days ago and everything was working ok. Then suddenly, with no warning i started getting frequent memory management BSODs and strange problems where installers wouldn't work. I had no idea what on earth was happening so i tried formatting my C: drive and during that process ran chkdsk which found a few bad clusters on the drive.

Anyway so then i tried re-installing windows and low and behold i was still getting BSODs...yes while installing windows! At this point i'm getting worried because not only am i getting BSODs talking about pfn lists being corrupt but im also getting windows files that refuse to be copied to my hard drive. My windows cd is just fine, i used it a few months ago without fault, but now it keeps saying "blah blah blah file cannot be copied to hard drive." The strange thing is it seems to choose the files randomly because everytime i've tried re-installing windows i've had different files that didn't want to be moved. I've been perusing other forums searching for solutions but the only thing i've found so far suggested RMAing my ram. Anyhoo sorry for the essay but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a bootable disk of memtest and run it.
Try installing anothe operating system i.e. linux.

Run memtest86+. If your ram passes, then it's not your ram. http://www.memtest.org/

If the ram is okay, run linux live cd. So you can rule out the hard drives.

If it still doesn't work then probably the motherboard is full of fail.

edit: Dammit frogger, had to comment right before I did lol.

i had something very similar happen. Know what it was?
A FRICKING SCrEW was shorting my mobo. It was touching a part in the back i never seen and made it restart instantly.

SO, before anything...Take the time to take EVERYTHING apart and put it back together.
EVERYTHING
mobo should be bare and out of the case. Get your compressed air and spray everything.
Clean and re apply that paste, and clean the case. Then put it all back together after you reset the mobo.
MAYBE it will just boot right up and you can take your tests.
OR, you need to try to run tests in safe mode, or bootable disks.
I hope your problem is simple like mine was!
:edit others kinda beat me to some suggestions

Same thing happend to me when I built my first rig there was a screw bridging my board to case (yet another true testament on how tuff asus p5n-e's are). It took me about 3 hrs to figure it out. Good luck hope you get it figured !
