Q6600 OC help

Thread Starter
The problem is I can't get passed 1400 FSB stable. I boot one time into bios, but cant get any farther. Then if I try to reboot I cant even get into my bios, i just freeze up and the motherboard logo screen. Then I have to reset my CMOS and apply the speeds again. I was wondering if it was a Voltage issue? Or if it's my motherboard. I know that my mobo is bad for OC'ing quads but i still would like to hit 3.2ghz, as I seen many others achieve it with my board. FYI, I'm running on 1203 BIOS.

I couldn't get my Q6700 to be stable at almost anything with that board. I could boot into Windows but it would always lock up eventually. A few have gotten lucky with it.

I do know that I had better results using the latest BIOS (1404) so you might try that. One good thing about that board is that it flashes the BIOS well and fast, so it's easy to go back to 1203 if you want.

Basically the board doesn't OC quads well. What do you have your vcore, NB, SB, VTT etc. set at?

The XFX 780i is a good board too and a lot less problems.

I'm currently trying to get stable at 3.2ghz too, i'm running 3.2 right now but I don't think it's prime stable Anyway what multi are you using? Alot of people use 8x but I can't do anything with 8x, have to reset cmos if I even try it, so I use 9x. I'd say it's voltage though, I couldn't even open a web page without it freezing untill I knocked it up above 1.4, what voltage are you using? ;l

750i FTW cheaper
