Anyways, I've tried those snips. They don't work out well and the cut is pretty rough.

And the metal starts to bend as you start to cut it.
Maybe that's just because mine were really dull, and it was my first time using them...

Yeah, they are kind of tricky and quality is very important. The cutoff is suppose to curl leaving wanted piece straight that is why you have left handed and right handed, its not because a person is left or right handed. One curls the metal to left of the cut the other curls the metal to the right of the cut. It might not be worth messing with if you don't plan on working with much sheet metal. Sorry, if I got you sidetracked.

Nah, it's ok.
Anyways. I guess I'll just buy the 7USD sheet from McMaster. Thanks for the help guys!
Wait, would haveing that coarse finish matter? Could sanding make it flat? Should I just buy a smoother finished steel sheet for more?
Also, how much do they charge for shipping?
