45 shouldent be to loud, but if your looking for a super quiet PC, i cant say it would be ideal.

Is there a difference in a exhaust and intake fan? Or is it just a matter of flipping the fan from one side to the other?

Just flipping the fan around. If you look closely you'll see a little arrow indicating direction of airflow and another arrow indicating direction of fan rotation.

Some people prefer to put more powerful fans exhausting than intaking, creating something of a vacuum effect inside the case. But play around with different speed settings of the same fan until you find what works for you.

I can vouch for the Slipstream also - just might want to cut out the grilling from the case - will make then quieter - the fan itself is silent - just the noise of the air moving through it.
