e2140 + Pin-Mod + Lenovo

Thread Starter
Hi Guys,
I have performed the Pin-Mod as seen on http://vr-zone.com/articles/Intel_Co...oost/3904.html for some reason it still doesn't show an increase in my CPU speed in windows.

I am sure the conductive ink is on there thick and properly as i have looked at it multiple times.

My concern is that maybe Lenovo has locked out the ability to even perform a pin mod.

Does anyone have any suggestions, currently i'm at a loss.

Thanks!

is speedstep enabled [or anyother power saving things] in the bios/lack there of?

Doing a pin mod should make the default FSB 1333 so that it would be overclocked automatically

Try the power saving things and if not - maybe do the mod again if it was done wrong maybe?

The BSEL mod only works if your motherboard supports the higher bus you are locking the CPU to.

Also I'm fairly sure the E2xxx series uses a different pin-out then the E6xxx series.

Lenovo makes laptops right? Usually they aren't very keen to change.

I am only doing the voltage mod. It is a 3000 K100 desktop with e2140 1.6 ghz at 200 FSB.
This is frustrating, I don't like wasting money on buying conductive ink for it not to work!
Lenovo must not allow even this feature.
I am sure the pins are covered correctly. ANy further suggestions?? Is there a good software Overclocking utility. SYstool doesn't detect my motherboard.

I also don't see a 'speedstep' option in the Lenovo bios. THe bios is VERY basic.

SetFSB will work if you can find out what clock generator you have [look for it or trial and error]
Why would you do a voltage mod on a CPU on a board that cannot overclock?

voltage will not OC your CPU. You need the voltage mod AND the FSB mod for it to work properly.

I thought since I can't changed the OC settings in the BIOS , I could force a voltage increase.

I am a noob to this bear in mind.
