8600 GT and ATI Tool , No clocking

Thread Starter
Hi Guys,
I have a XFX Geforce 8600GT XXX .

When I go into Atitool it detects my clock speeds but when it comes to finding the max cores, or to overclock with it, it doesn't increase.

IE. it says 0.0 and 0.0 over clock and mem clock;.

I can overclock in Rivatuner, but I would like to find my 'max' core speeds with out having to experiment too much.

Anyone know why this would be?

I'm using the .27 Beta 4 with Vista.

Yes, both core and memory show 0.0 upon startup, am I doing something wrong?

try using nTune. btw, if your planning on overclocking you shouldn't have to because I see you have the XXX edition..

Yeah it is overclocked by the manufacturer, wouldn't it be useful for me to go higher? Or does XFX overclock it to its max stable core speed?

Use rivatuner to overclock for nvidia, there's a reason it's ATI Tool.
