Out of those I'd go for the GTS - if it was my purchase I'd wait the month it'll take for both ATI and Nvidia to release their new cards. The 4850 alone might beat these two legacy products and be affordable to boot.

At this point in time I would wait for the next generation of offerings. The 8800GTS G92 is a lot more powerful than the HD3870 though. The 9600GT is a more direct competitor.

Just read up on some benchmarks, but don't pay attention to the synthetic ones.
ive owned both cards about 7 8800gt's and 3 3870's and I can say without a doubt the 8800's are a pretty good amount better

Yes if you have the money go for 8800GTS g92 FTW , its a bit more money than
a 3870 but does outperform it quite a bit.
