F@H Help - Keeps crashing when submitting results

Thread Starter
Hello, I just started folding today but am having some problems. I have a XP and Vista machine and on the last 2 WU on the vista machine when submitting F@H has crashed and then once when reopening it has submitted and the other it didn't submit with the following error in the log -
[10:25:51] + Attempting to send results
[10:26:25] Couldn't send HTTP request to server (wininet)
[10:26:25] + Could not connect to Work Server (results)
[10:26:25] (171.64.122.72:8080)
[10:26:25] - Error: Could not transmit unit 02 (completed June 5) to work server.
Any ideas?? thanks
(version is 5.03)
edit- A few of my friends with XP are having the same problem on XP (started a team today)
edit 2 - "Welcome to the forums PaulK.

This is a known problem with the GUI client, due to OpenGL not being so well supported on Windows.

The solution is to minimise the GUI window to the system tray whilst the client is trying to send back the results.

The more drastic solution is to remove the GUI client and use the no nonsense console version...the choice is yours " for those having same probs..looks like im installing console ver

Hey R@zor. With an E6600 you want to be folding with SMP. That graphical client only gives like 30 points. Whereas the SMP client will score you 1760 points or more per WU.
Chozart just helped a guy with the very same problem. Rather than retyping it all I refer you to his post. Since you have an E660. You might as well score big points with it.

Of course you'll be putting in your own name. and Team 37726
Everything else is just like he instructed Coolwaters. Be looking for you to climb up the ladder. Good luck!

Definitely! Any time you have a dual core CPU. SMP folding is the way to go
Feel free to PM me if you have any problems setting it up. Cheers

[10:26:25] Couldn't send HTTP request to server (wininet)

You also need to reconfigure the client, and change the option for USE IE SETTINGS back to the default setting of No. This will help to eliminate any upload problems going forward. USE IE has actually been removed from the v6 clients to avoid this problem in the future.

^ Thats helpful! That one setting constitutes about half the questions on this forum. Whoops...there goes my rep, lol.
