[Crytekl] Crysis Warhead shipping exclusively to PC this year!!! - Page 9

post #81 of 169
People whine about Crysis being unoptimized because they can't handle the blow to the ego of admitting that their beloved computers of today just aren't able to max it out. Optimization has little to do with it; they're just displacing...classic Freudian defense mechanism.

I played it with a 7900gt; it was gorgeous on medium at moderate resolution and ran decently except for the final level, which chugged due to 2gigs of ram. Somehow, people with 8800s are pissing and moaning. Sorry kids, your computer isn't perfect.

Live is a horrible service as a whole - don't bring it to PC dammit. Keep it to the consoles.
Windows Live really is not that bad

In fact, it works wonders in Halo 2 Vista.

Silver = free

Gold = $50 Per year.

Well, it is the truth you know. Just take a look at how crappy Farcry looks yet it still runs like crap on most systems today. Cyrtek's team is a joke TBH.

Hehe, I can give you that. FarCry was....Terribly optimized compared to other games. Even today my 8800GT cannot max it out with 16xAA and 16xAF without getting low FPS in some places (Forest areas for example.) It'll actually drop to 20FPS when looking right at a bush sometimes.

Frankly though, CoD4 looks very....Meh, Source games perform and look better then it. (CoD4 was based off the Quake 3 Engine last I checked, same goes for CoD2, CoD5, and apparently a new 007 game coming out. )

However, Crysis just looks so good, has so many effects. It's pretty far from being badly optimized. Could it be optimized more? Of course! But in comparison to other games it's not badly optimized.

Apparently all of you want a terrible looking game that runs at 1000FPS. Because, you aren't going to get a CGI-level game which runs at 60FPS.

On another note, the title says "[Crytekl] Crysis Warhead shipping exclusively to PC this year!!! "

"The pack shot below is not the final version and just a teaser how it might look like.
Do not pay too much attention to the logos such as the "LIVE" logo, since they have been placed for a placeholder purpose and nothing else."

Don't worry, it's probably not going to be using Live.
