[Crytekl] Crysis Warhead shipping exclusively to PC this year!!! - Page 10

I think the problem with Crysis is that the playable level of performance is far too low. For example:

Crysis: High/Medium 1440x900
Gears of War: Maximum, 4xAA

Which one looks more pleasing and is more fun to play? The same can be said about Bioshock, CoD4 etc.

Crysis on less than High settings looks crap. I guess the lesson to learn is that making games scale with lower end gear is worth it =p

I thought they weren't going to do a PC exclusive launch because of the "pirates"...
oh well, I'm not complaining

I wish they would have included more weapons in the first game though, shotgun, smg, two rifles, and pistols were not enough... And I think you should be able to carry more than two rifles at a time. You're wearing a goddarned supersuit for crying out loud!

Frankly though, CoD4 looks very....Meh, Source games perform and look better then it. (CoD4 was based off the Quake 3 Engine last I checked, same goes for CoD2, CoD5, and apparently a new 007 game coming out. )

However, Crysis just looks so good, has so many effects. It's pretty far from being badly optimized. Could it be optimized more? Of course! But in comparison to other games it's not badly optimized.

Apparently all of you want a terrible looking game that runs at 1000FPS. Because, you aren't going to get a CGI-level game which runs at 60FPS.

On another note, the title says "[Crytekl] Crysis Warhead shipping exclusively to PC this year!!! "
Yea I agree, I prefer the Source engine over the COD4 engine. I normally might sound like a fanboy praising Valve so much but they seem to get everything right when it comes to graphics, gameplay, cost of the game, multiplayer, updates, support, etc.......

I mean just take a look at Left4Dead for example. From the gameplay videos I have seen it looks like its going to blow away Crysis graphically yet it will be able to be played maxed out on a single 8800GT I bet. Theres plenty of proof that Crytek does a bad job. I mean, valve has been supporting hl1 for nearly 10 years now while Crytek cant even support their own game for more than 8 months.

L4D won't blow away Crysis graphically! :O Did you even play on max settings? (I did... resolution 800x600, but I was gasping sometimes... worth it, 'tis awesome.)

Ok, let me get this straight. Crytek has decided to stop making the 1.3 patch, which is just another broken promise from this company. Now they make a new game, and they want us to buy it? I don't know about you, but that is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard, and I live in North America.

Crysis is nothing but eye candy. Hell, it's not even worth pirating.

they said the reason for not creating 1.3 was that they are instead focusing on the release of their new title.

seriously, what more do you really think they can fix in Crysis now? no magical patch of any version is gonna all of a sudden add 10-20fps to your game and make the game suddenly run perfect...Crysis is at its optimal performance right now, no point in making any more changes. its just a waste of time and man power. they see that now, and are focusing on the next step.

So as for graphics, do you just care about whether or not you can run max settings with good framerates? Last time I checked, Source maxed out doesn't look any better than Cry Engine 2 on medium.

Seriously quit complaining about Crysis. It's almost the same as complaining about GPU prices. They're all great products, it's just people whining because they can't afford the latest and greatest. Just be happy with what you have and what you can do with it and stop complaining about what you can't have.

As for gameplay, why do you guys keep comparing Crysis to CoD4 and other fast-paced shooters? They're just different. Like it or not, it's only a personal preference.

And no, Left 4 Dead looks exactly like CS:S.

HAHAHAHA, I couldn't agree more! Crysis really is not worth pirating. It is not worth the 2 hour download and the extraction/installation.
