Dead System...Please help

Thread Starter
See below for specs.

I built my system about 7ish months ago. I had no problems and everything worked super. Yesterday I come home from work and my monitor have nothing but black screens. I think its kind of odd as the comp is still running. I reboot the computer. I get the generic "windows did not shut down properly...blah blah" message. So I attempt to start up in safe mode...no go. Tried rebooting with latest good configuratinos...no go. Finally, I'm like fine...i'll repair the windows installation... During the repair process I get a blue screen detailing some sort of error message(blue screen) and it shuts the system down.

Now when I turn on the PC everything turns on, all the led's on my mobo light up properly, optical drives, HD, etc...but I have no video output at all. Nothing. Can't see or access anything.

Anyoen have any ideas? Memory died? MOBO fried or HD Died on me? I have checked all connections and disassebmbled and put it all back to gether already.

Test 1: Turn on the system, wait a few seconds, then press the power button. If you have to "HOLD" the power button, odds are it's the motherboard that's messing up

test 2: Turn on the pc. If it shuts itself off after 3 seconds and reboots, odds are the ram is what's acting up

Note that this is based on my experiences with three different mobos (asus A8N sli premium, asrock conroexfire, DFI blood iron, Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 and Asus P5N-SLI)

If none of that works, pull out the cmos battery, reset the cmos for 10 seconds, put the pin back, then the battery and reboot.
