Overclocking my E660 to 3.60Ghz became time consuming so back down to 3.0Ghz

I'm running at 3.0Ghz, 4-4-4-12, 1.2875v everything else is on auto and things not needed are disabled.

I want to go higher but when I do my cpu temp goes in the 50c's and with load its like 59-65..

I have spent a whole week messing with the pc.. purchased a tuniq tower 120 yesterday.. had to take of my motherboard to install it.. then again today I took out my motherboard.. and applied the thermal paste better this time and readjusted the heatsink... arranged everything in my case to make it neat etc... put everything together again..

I have 4 fans in total... 3 x 120mm and one slighter smaller one.. 1 is in the front of the case (antec p180) blowing air to the o.s harddrive.. the other 2 act as my vacuum... e.g. the heatsink 1 and the 1 at the back of the case inline with it.. I have one just above the heat sink which sucks hot air up and out of the top of my case.

My temp for my cores idle at around 37 to 39... the CPU temp is arund 46..
Are these temps safe for my overclock at 3.0GHZ?

I don't want to spend another full day tomorrow configuing this pc.. I have music projects to complete but I want to work with a piece of mind.. 3.0Ghz is ok for me... I just want low temps..

Your opinionsm suggestion will be valued.. thanks.

that maybe the problem then. My e6750 is currentlt idle at 27C 80F. My room temp probably around 73-75 range just to give you an idea. My room would have to be in the 90's to hit that idle temp with my current steup. My guess is either the tuniq isnt seated properly, too much thermal paste or bad airflow or its just hot in your room

I think the Tuniq Tower is your bottleneck in this case. You might want to consider taking a look at either the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 or the OCZ Vendetta 2. I find the TRUE to be way too expensive for what you get (especially when it doesn't include a fan).

I wasn't able to hit 3.6GHz until I got my HDT-S1283 yesterday. Now I'm peaking at 59 C - 60 C in Orthos at 3.6GHz, previously up to 65 C with my old cooler.

Truss me I remounted the heatsink today and reset the thermal paste..I took extra care and made sure I done this properly.. I've lowered the Vcore voltage from the VID on core temp to 1.2v.. I'm running prime 95.. it's been running fine for over an hour now. going to see how long I will remain stable...

My cpu cores are at 45c each.. Cpu is at 52c.. I'm kinda shocked because before I rewired/rearranged and cleaned up the pc case.. I couldn't last this long on 1.2v at 3.0Ghz on prime.. Now I can .. maybe the special cables I used help.. some of them have some special material round them and other have the same material with some thick like plactic.. The bare wires I have in my case are the sata cables.. and fan cables.. I did how ever add and extra fan..

Did a little DIY.. took the fan from stock hear sink and mounted it where the 3rd top antec p180 tricool 120mm fan would go.. so its sucking the heat out of the top of the case.. maybe this helped maybe it didn't.. I just want to wake up tomorrow and see prime still running.. if I can get a 24 hour run out of this then I will try 1.18v and see how that goes.
