Comcast Corporation says it is currently on track to offer speeds of over 100Mbps to 20 percent of its customers by the end of 2008. By the end of 2010, they hope to expand the product to most markets in the United States. Comcast Senior Vice President of Investor Relations, Marla Dooner, calls the speed 'very competitive' with Verizon FiOS.

Comast is the United State's second largest ISP and the largest cable television provider. Among cable operators, Comcast has been the most aggressive in deploying a wideband technology known as Docsis 3.0 in response to user demand for high definition video.

Thats all good but when they offered me 40 or 30 forgot what it was i got like 4. Verizon says i get 16 guess what i get 16 . As long as the customer actually gets the bandwidth then good for comcast.

the big questions are
1) how much will it cost?
2) will it be unlimited?
3) are they going to choke p2p apps?

They're still only offering 6 meg lines just outside of Chicago. I'd imagine everyone outside of the very dense metropolitan areas will be in the 2010 range.

Also, will they be changing the cap and stop screwing with bandwidth when this happens? 250gigs won't take too long to use up on a 100mbit connection.

I wonder if there will be any testing areas for that 100mbit connection they currently have 50/5 test area in St. Paul and Minneapolis. I wish they had that in Philly my 16/2 connection is too slow Forget P2P get a rapishare account for your "sharing needs"
