A few tech questions before i build

Thread Starter
i will be building my new system tomorrow and was just wondering a few things.

ASUS P5N-D mobo
E8400
4Gb G.Skill PC2 8000

I have read a lot about bios settings to get the mobo to recognize and ram at correct speeds and this is something that i am clueless about.

am i going to have to upgrade bios for the mobo and if so how exactly do i do that.

I'm not shooting for the 4GHz club or anything but i would like to OC it a little bit.

If there is anything really important that i will need to do right away to insure that everything runs smoothly thats what i'm looking for.

the last thing i want to to get BSOD until I end up throwing the whole thing out the window!!

Thanks for any help

your ram should be recognized at 800mhz and you have to raise the settings in the bios to have them running at pc2 8000
