I know, another Rocketfish case... - Page 2

Here is a Rocketfish build I did for a friend. He came up with the idea to use the video card fan mount as a cable hide. It didnt take too much modifications to trim the flange off and drill/tap it.

Ha, yeah I used gutted 120mm fans as shrouds to reduce the turbulance against the grill, which quiets them down considerably. This case is extrmemly quiet! I did the same on the TRUE to optimize the airflow across the fin surface area. I figured if it is good enough for rads, why not a TRUE!

You should try a mod with a sheet of metal to cover the section with all the cables that way you see just the motherboard and the harddives

So on the TRUE is the fan furthest to the left an actual fan that is conected to a gutted one then to the TRUE?

Also - why do you have 3 scythe fans doing intake from the top - shouldnt they be exhausts being at the top?

Because the case has a front door (on the Air cooling one..I removed the door from the WCing one), I needed to set the top mounted fans to bring air into the case. There are two fans exhausting air out to the back. This is a very effective air cooling setup for me.

As for the TRUE. There is a gutted fan acting as a shroud to reduce turbulance and quiet the fan. I am actually getting 36-34-34-32°C at idle with 1.4125v vcore on a Q6700, and 58-58-56-54°C at load with this setup.

I have a question regarding the Rocketfish build which you had done for your friend. How did you mount the hard drives in the 5.25 bays? Did you just use longer screws?

I used a 3.5" to 5.25" adapter from Scythe. You can also get the Nexus Double Twin mount which allows you to mount 2 drives using just the one mount.

your build seems to have a very very cramped area where the rad is. It protrudes into the drive bays! how did you fit anything in there??
