9600gso

Thread Starter
Well its the first time i saw this card today. I was browsing through Canadacomputers.com and i see a 9 series for 130 bucks.

http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...id=999.243.390

Im still contemplating whether i should go with this one this summer, or the 3850. (Sapphire 512mb version)

Heres a link that th1nker gave me (thanks) about how you can soft mod (no idea what that is) the 9600GSO into an 8800.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15035

^ 3dmark06 scores.

Anyone know anything about this card, and should i go with this or the 3850?

thanks,
-Shibbz

9600GSO is slightly better than 3850 especially when AA turns on. Depending on the price different between 9600GSO and 3850, I would go for GSO if the price is similar.

Id say whichever is cheaper when it comes to buying it. 3dmark06 scores are almost identical

9600GSO is slightly cheaper. But is the 9600GSO only better/same as 3850 when its soft modded, or stock?

So overall the 9600GSO would be the better choice?

9600GSO is the best choice out of those cards or you can get a 8800GS for cheaper (same card as the 9600GSO just different name).

Get the 9600GSO or the 8800GS. Both are the same card, just renamed to be part of the 9 series. It performs better than the 3850 also.
