Antec 900 fan questions

Thread Starter
I am wondering if it's possible to 'overclock' the top fan on the Antec 900 case? I've seen write-ups of modding a fan to spin using 24v. Can I do this with the top fan of the antec 900? Or will I just explode the case?

Thanks

Not at all advisable... only the 12V and 5V on a PSU is easily accessible (via molex)... to actually get 24V to a fan, you would require the 12v and -12v (found on the 24pin connector)

no real way to overvolt a case fan to 24v without killing your warranty or potentially wrecking your PSU... the fan might also not be able to handle 24v, or if it can, will severely shorten it's lifespan

yes i have a antec 900 and thought of this but i thought na dont wana do this as this will reduce the fans life time dramaticaly and it may be to noisy as well

Why would you need to mod it?

It's already able to do 134 CFM on high. Do you really need more airflow than that?
