Same here man!

if its true... go ATI!
gtx280 x2 is not the answer u nvidia fanboys. Price/Performance... 280 already costs a fortune... 280x2? i can buy like 4 4870s and quadfire them instead.

I may go ATI for the first time, it all depends on the price to performance ratio on these and the Nvidia GTX 280. Knowing Nvidia, they'll charge a ridiculous amount for their new tech so ATI may be the way to go, not that I know ATI's price as of yet...

All those GTX 280 vs 4870X2 comparisons make me laugh, giving that GTX 280 is not out yet + we have 0 game benchmarks and 4870X2 is even gonna take a couple of month after GTX release to show up, which indicates that card is probably not ready yet.

Even if ATI get more point in Vantage this no way indicates game performance, since ATI card look better on paper almost every single time and then fail in real life situations. nVidia is playing smart, they coopare with game developers and that makes their card even better. And then have faith in nVidia, they is the industry leader ffs. Also it so funny how people are throwing "GTX costs 650 omg, SLI them for 1300 omg, i can buy million 4870 and CF them for that much money..." since it is sweet, but knowing nothing about actual performance of both that just chitchat and nothing more.

Do the 4870x2 and 4850x2 have the reported shared memory interface?

If the 4870X2 ends up faster, I don't think the 1-2 month difference in their launch will impact sales. It will probably be longer than that before GT200 is available in any respectable quantity. Also, I wouldn't go so far as to say that they don't have the card ready. I think that they have the card up and running but it's being delayed for GDDR5 availability, but more importantly they want optimized drivers the day of release. They don't want another repeat of the 3870X2 where the newer drivers competely blow the old ones away. If they want to really challenge the GTX280 they need those drivers the day of release because benchmarking sites/reviewers don't give them a second chance.

What i meant is that it is WAY too early to talk about 4870X2 cards, when we know nothing about GTX 260/280 and 4870/4850 real performance.
