Official [SMT] DFI Lanparty DK 790FX-M2RS + AMD Phenom 9850 BE Thread - Page 7

Well...i know for a fact the DK board can clock about 14 multi @ 208 or 209 HT w/no prob...but the board that i got is a dud board...bcuz there is a CPU section i forgot what it's called...but it's at the top of the cpu genie section...now this part give u info and u can change CPU settings such as DID, NB ID, FID so on...u can also make changes to it...at normal un-oc'd setting...it'll display 5 different set-ups...but for me...after one successful oc boot...then i re-boot...bios hanged...shut-off..re-power up...enters bios...those cpu info i was talking about earlier...it's totally gone...and the mobo also gave me a "cmos checksum error"...so i clear cmos...and those cpu info is still gone...2 options at the most...so i think u really can push it w/o problem on the DK...but my cmos chip is a dud...and i'm gonna rma back to newegg tomorrow...haha...

BTW opticwaves...try ur multi @ 14 and HT @ 208 (or 209)...now I already packed my mobo...but there is 2 ht section that had same 200 speed...up those 2 w/same rate...and run ortho....u should be at 2.91GHZ...multi over 14 it'll be unstable...

Still can't get my stupid phone connected for pics . . Will work on that today.

RacerEd - AOD is totally unstable and untrustable IMO. Unless you like loosing information I wouldn't use it.

AMD Addict - all the values you have given I have been semi successful with. My problem is heat.

14 x208, 14 x215, 14.5 x 204, 15 x 200, are all good overclocks on my system with enough juice. I can even boot with 15 x 210, but again, after 10 sec of Prime95, it gets hot and I stop the testing.

I'm running at 14x200, for a while, I want to see my temps when I'm at close to load running audio for long periods and really cranking on it with automation changing values and opening new apps and everything before I actually run at a higher clock. I can already tell this can do alot of work at once though just getting started on a new song.

See pic for my highest suicide stable 3DMark. This morning is cool so maybe I'll OC the GPU and test again at those values.

As far as I know, that is the OCN record for an AMD CPU score.

Did you post that in the 3dmark section?? Maybe they can make another list for CPU score or single card score

OpicWaves, I wasn't planning on keeping the OC with AOD. Just tried it to see if I could any OC to work at all since I haven't been able to OC through Bios. I'm starting to think that maybe it is Vista 64. I have been hearing from a lot of people they have problems overclocking with that OS. So I'm going to try a bual boot with Vista 32 bit to see if I have better luck.

I plan to begin folding as soon as I reach what I think is my max stable OC. More work to do still. . .
