Thanks, but I don't think it would be worth it , have famuly in aus, and when I did that a year or so ago it turned out to be a bit more than a here retail (hope that makes sense, xD), but +rep for offering anyway

I have ran both cards in the setup below and the 9600GT is a nice improvement over the 8800GS. Very much worth the little extra for it.

9600GT Hands down, get two and you'll see the scalability they're talking about.

I don't think enough people even tried the 8800gs's to even know what they can do. I purchased one for one of my kids and of course I had to put it in my machine first to check it out. It is the xfx alpha dog edition and my first impression was that it was very loud, 100% fan speed with no adjustments possible with riva tuner or otherwise. This was anticipated by the reviews and I put a zalman vf700 on it that I had lying around and now its quiet. Overclocking topped out at 720/1000 45c idle/55-60c load, which gave me just over 13k on 3dmark06. Thats about what my g80 gts got before going with a g92. I got the card for less than 100 bucks with the rebate so maybe 30-40 less than a 9600gt. I do think after testing it out that the gs is a decent card for the price range but certainly the 9600gt will edge it out. So I am not trying to change your mind, the 9600gt is probably a little better and I doubt you would be dissapointed.

Peace
