9850 Temperatures

Thread Starter
Hey OC, I'm fairly new and I have a few questions to ask and thanks in advance.

I browsed this forum looking for temps because I'm worried that my temps are too high. I was wondering when you guys talk about your temps, are you guys just talking about the CPU temp? How about the core temps?

My temp follows: CPU: 45c Idle / 53c Load, as for Cores: 50c idle / 60c Load

I am running on stock cooling but will upgrade soon.

I'm running at 2.81ghz on 1.25 volts (x14)

I see many people with low temps and I'm cautious

(1) Are my temps high?
(2) How high can core temps go up to?
(3) I reached 2.9 once on stock voltages, ran 3dmark06 and crysis, etc. It was fine until I rebooted, set the multiplier to 15x, booted up at 3ghz on stock voltages, ran 3dmark06 for 2 minutes and i got BSOD, now for some reason I can't go back to 14.5x, anyone know why?

Thanks!

I believe the max temp fot the 9850 is 61C, I've got my bios set to shutdown at 60C. Mine runs at 40C idle and 56C at load OCed to 2.96Ghz, but I'm also raising the voltage by .5. Passes prime95 blend for a couple hours but not overnight yet .

Get yourself a decent cooler, I hear the TRUE is one of the best when you put a good fan on it. I'm happy with my Zalman.

If you are in stock that the problem. You have to get a better aftermarket cooler if you want to keep the OC and go higher.
