An Australian? Great!

www.staticice.com.au is the best place to compare market prices.

Overall, I'd say the build is looking pretty damn good. MSY has a 9600GT for $149 at the moment that I really think you should snap up or alternatively wait it out for the HD4850. Justifying a $299 8800GT is hard at the moment.

Which state are you in by the way? If Victoria I can help you out with some good places to buy and what not. Everything else is looking quite good but get a Western Digital 640GB drive instead. In most places it is cheaper than the Seagate 500GB and performs a lot better. I'm picking one up today in fact for $115.

I did say most places

Seagate 500GB - Average price looks to be $110.

WD 640GB - Average price around $130.

I stand corrected But it's still better

i live in melbourne eastern suburbs... used to shop in MSY but there are some items i want that they just dont provide... so i found a shop called PCcaseGear (online store but the main factory is at Claton, so i can shop there personally)...

mainly looking at shops that i can shop personally, coz i think the postage fees are a bit ridiculous here

Fantastic! I'm buying my second 9600GT from there as well.

Best places to shop are MSY, CPL or Centrecom.

Go for this one: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ba335a2d4ea686

Best deal around at the moment by far!

heard some bad comments for CPL... will look into centrecom...
i guess the 9600GT is good for the price, but as i said from first post this build is for bro and he's not getting his pay until end of this month. so will still look into the new stuff that is coming out (if there is any)

from what wildfire said, i will see how the P45 boards fit into the budget, since it seems to be perfect for 45nm chip

heres what i think. if the computer can wait at least 2 weeks, then wait. when the GTX280 is released, this will drive down the prices of the current video cards.
