Yeah, I'm going to overclock it. I'm leery of increasing the vcore too much, though, since there's no way to be sure of the ambient temps and overall ventilation the computer will experience in the hands of a kid, ya know?

Makes me tempted to go with a liquid cooling setup ...

Well then definitely go with E8400 they are great OC'ers. Got mine up to 3.8 ghz with just above stock VCore. I have seen them go up to 4.4 ghz

by changing the FSB QDR to 1600 you can get a nice OC of 3.6 which would be plenty for him i believe
