Sure RAID is setting up multiple discs to run together basically...

RAID0= "Striping raid" which means it will write info to 2 HDD's at same time half and half. This will increase performance because its using 2 HDD's speed to read data

RAID1= "Mirror raid" which will make an exact backup of HDD by writing same info to both drives at once. This is slower but more for in case one HDD fails.

RAID5= Striping w/ Parity" This is when you have 3 or more discs that stripe but protects against loss of one disc.

RAID0 and RAID1 are the most used by us enthusiasts who either want more performance or data integrity... I use RAID0 and would suggest it because it will really enahcen your performance and you can always backup your drives.

Also its easy to setup if your mobo suports it just set it up in the BIOS and you can set type of RAID, etc. And then when installing windows vista just enable it in installation program and it will let you configure the volumes. If using XP then you need the RAID drivers on a floppy and install the drivers using F6 in installation program...

These are your main 2 ways to set up RAID if you want the other kinds lemme know
