Q9450 & GTL Reference

Thread Starter
Allright, in my various efforts to push my board past 500FSB I have read that adjusting or tweaking the GTL references can push extra FSB out of a board/processor. Here's what I'm working with...

Each of the GTL references are described as a percentage of the FSB voltage.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I've never tried for 500fsb

I'd say your FSB voltage is a tad low, I've been seeing recommendations of 1.6v when nearing 500fsb.
Also your GTL settings are not following the guidelines of .67% of gtl/r

Yeah I've been adjusting them all morning. Kind of doing some vCore suicide runs right now just trying anything.

Trying to earn an extra rep for staying alive with your board when suiciding, are we?

About the CPU ref voltage: you know I have the same CPU as you do (but one 'hell' of a different mobo ) and I can send you tables and tables about trying to OC mine ... My finding were my board in combination with the Q9450will only remain stable if kept between 63% and 65%. Might be different for other board though ... but mine won't even boot at 67% (and high FSB).

Also, 1.6v FSB voltage??? Quite high if you ask me (but hey, when on a suicide mission, everything goes!)

Yeah I ended up with 3999.1 MHz, board just does NOT want to go over 500 FSB. Temps and things of that nature were never an issue - at 499FSB it'll boot with 1.38vCore, 1.675 NB, 1.5v FSB(my max unless I figure out a volt mod) - the GTL still set to auto (67/68), I might try it again but it's begining of summer here in Texas and my A/C unit isn't blowing as hard as it should so it's time to take it apart and OC that! Luckily my office/computer workshop has it's own AC that blows 60F air on my swiftech radiators 24/7.

Oh well, if anyone else figures out anything more about the GTL's - post it!
