I tried the pencil mod I found for this board, but I didn't see any difference. Maybe I didn't put enough down on the resistor. . .

On a OC related note, I'm up to 3.5 stable now. I was only hoping for 3.4 so I'm happy with this cpu for sure. It might have a little left in it, I'll have to find out.
Looks good to me. Those temps seem more realistic . Thats a good overclock you have there. Post back if you need any more information

Update:

I bought a new monitor for my set-up and I like it a lot. I got the Samsung 245T, refurbished at ecost.com. I saved a few hundred going this way as opposed to new. I was weary about going this route because I was worried I'd get stuck pixels or scratches on the outer casing, but I don't have any of that. The monitor looks new and it performs the way it should. I see a lot of people talk about the 245BW as opposed to this more expensive model, but I am not planning to get another monitor for a few years hopefully so I wanted the s-pva panel in whatever I was going to get.

My set-up runs the games I play at the full resolution without any stutter so I am glad I went with a decent sized monitor. I play WC3 (yes I know, but DotA), AC, UT3, GH3, Oblivion, and a few older titles.

Overall I'd say that I don't need anything else for a while now, although it'll be hard to resist getting a 4870 and just selling this 8800gts

Do you think my 2180 at 3.4 will bottleneck the 4870 if I did indeed get it later on, for playing at 1900x1200?

P.S. I'll post pics of my set-up once I get my camera back ^^

As I promised earlier, I have got my camera and the needed equipment to post pics here and so I shall, but with one caveat: This is my first time using this camera, and I sux

Note: I hope I didn't include too many pics; If I did, sorry. I don't know how to edit the thread name to include *56k warning*

First the computer must be redied to accept new goodies

You must take off fan guards and clean fans before putting in new parts!!!

Old parts out of computer, guarded by defensive cat.

Parts that are being replaced

DFI Lanparty

Athlon 3200 socket 939

The equipment arrives

Place goodies in computer, repeat until finished

Old AS5, make sure to mix it well if it has been opened previously (at least I hope this does something)

Make sure to use cable managment

After finishing setup of your computer, make sure to set up some speakers! ! !

Yes I know they are too close

A bit better space wise; I've given them a few feet from the wall behind as they are rear ported. (I have to rearrange room to get better setup space than this)

Pictures of the Samsung 245T

Have you managed to overclock your e2180, I'm intrigued what yo will get out of it. Some newer '80s have been able to hit 3.7-3.9ghz, some have struggled to hit 3ghz, it really is a lottery now.

3.5 seems to be the wall that this processor can't climb over, I've given it plenty of voltage as well as watching the temps but theres not much more I can do with it. On that note, this ram is absolutely horrible for oc'ing; it won't even oc 10%, so rather than trying to oc it I just tightened the timings, which it seems ok with.

I'm running it with an x8 multi and the board handles the fsb fine. The cpu doesn't seem to like anything over 400 though, so that 3.5 was with x9.

I really wasn't expecting much from these parts as they aren't high priced compared to anything, so I am glad that the 2180 took me to 3.5. I never see temps over 60c on load, which is really good considering my ambient temp is pretty high (no ac in a second story house room with temps usually 80-90f during the day) I have some grit I can sand her down with, I just never got around to it when I got the cpu. I was too interested to see how she performed

Mine also hits a totally unpassable wall at 3.5ghz (and I've gone up to 1.58v ). Looks good though . Bear in mind that those temps are likely 15*C higher if you are using Coretemp or Speedfan. HWMonitor reports correct temps though, or you can just tweak speedfan to add on a 15*C offset on the cores (as I did). If you need to know which values to change just give me a shout. Lapping isn't really neccesary unless you are really unhappy with your temps (warranties are kinda handy really).
