Curious about evga's 'step-up' program

Thread Starter
hello, i posted a few times around a month ago trying to refine my first build (been trolling around ever since reading posts of others doing the same, hardware news, etc.).... i was waiting on some cash to start putting the wheels in motion, as of today, that is no longer a problem, and as ive been lusting over my 'funputer' for this long, i really dont have it in me to wait for the next gen of vid cards (even though its only like 10 days away, id kinda rather wait for benchmarks anyways before i go and unload 650$ on a 280)
Anyways down to brass tax. how much for the ape? errr, nah i was just curious if say i were to get an 8800gts or w/e then i see in a month or so "hey wow, yeah that new nvidia card while expensive is light years better than what i have, i want to step up" are the people at evga easy to work with? is the whole process pretty painless? or do they jerk you around alot? i know i could probably find this information elsewhere, but hey i like these forums and most everyone here is pretty cool and willing to help, thanks in advance. now off to build on newegg

I have used the step-up twice and it's totally painless. I used cross-shipping as well, no worries. Remember not only do you get the step-up but you also get a lifetime warranty on your card as long as you register it within 30 days of purchase, also required to start a step up.

Welcome to OCN!!

Painless. EVGA is one of the best companies I've ever dealt with, step-up or RMA wise. Just make sure YOU KEEP EVERYTHING IN THE BOX, the casing, the manual, everything. They basically want to sell it as B-stock.
