Overclock Athlon 64 X2 5000+ to 1066mhz ram - Page 2

Have you run Memtest on your ram to make sure that it can run stable?

I think it's the cpu that can't do 3.2 ghz, let me do some calculations...

Try 258 * 12. It won't get the ram to 1066 but damn close to it.

Yep, 3.1 ghz cpu, 1044 ram. Make sure your cpu voltage is at least at 1.45.

I'm having trouble getting mine up too. I can't get past 24O clock without problems even at x10.

Does the CPU voltage stabilize that, or does that just depend on the overall CPU speed?

Maybe I need to raise the NB voltage?
You would need to raise your NB voltage. Or maybe your phenom can't handle a higher clock, try both voltages.

Oh well. Still no luck. I guess I'll just run it at a 15 multiplier with everything else default. That's giving me a 3.01ghz processor and 800mhz ram.

Thanks for all the help!

Some additional chipset voltage might be needed to help gain stability when you're increasing the reference clock speed....

I'm not sure what your board has for voltage options, but my Biostar TA770 has a default chipset voltage of 1.15V.... I have bumped it up as high as 1.30V with no problems.

1066 will show 533Mhz though, as it is DDR2, correct?

I'm also a noob with the same RAM, having trouble getting it fast, only from my noobdom im sure.
