Thread Starter
Well, I tried all of your suggestions (I appreciate it mucho) but nothing worked. Kept crashing. I am currently running with everything on it's defualt setting except the CPU Multiplier at 16x and the voltage to the memory at 2.0. My memory was sitting at about 378mhz at default power, I've upped it, now it runs at about 400.8mhz.

Does anyone think I should up the voltage to my cpu with the upped multiplier or just leave it to auto in Bios? I'm not appearing to be having any problems and the auto voltage is 1.344v.

Can anyone offer me advice on what my cpu temps should be? Right now the Bios has them sitting at about 42 celsius. I have to load into Bios to see because the program called Core Temp says the cpu temp is at about 17 celsius, and I don't believe it.

Have you done any stability testing such as Orthos? You might be okay running vcore of 1.344, but I had to increase mine to 1.45 to stay stable at 3.2G.

Brisbanes are noted for not giving very accurate temp readings, but I've been using HW Monitor:

http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php

.... it's worked pretty well for me.... my load temps run in the mid to upper 40's. If I'm not mistaken, the temp reading in the BIOS is supposed to be approx. 80% of load.

Don't you need to update the BIOS (on my board you need F6, shipped with F3) in order to run the Phenom CPUs? Maybe that will unlock the speeds up to 1066 in the memory speed option. Just a wild guess though.

be happy w/ ur OC. there are sacrifices to run higher mem and runnign high OC. u must find the median and live with it. 95% of everyone on here pref higher cpu clocks that mem.

indeed in amd 64 platform, CPU MHZ "IS" the king, memory bandwidth is not as important as in Intel platforms. you will not notice a major performance gain or loss with higher or low mem bandwidth. just take ur cpu as high as you can get. as for 5000 BE's they all mostly maxes out at like 3.2-.3.4 on air cooling, and most ppl have achieved that number with minimal volt increase from stock 1.35 to 1.4 only. i currently have my friends 5000BE at 3.2 at 1.375volts. so yea and hes happy with that and so am i.lol
