P5Ke - PCI-E

Hi All,

Just a quick question. Does anybody know if I add another 3870 to my system, does the 2nd PCI-E slot run slower (ei: 4X or 8X)??? I don't want to buy another card only to find out that my gains will be small or worse. I have an Asus P5Ke. Thanks for your help!!

Kurt

Yes it does run only at 4x but it will still be a huge upgrade for you, the 4x bus only slightly hinders the second card.

The second slot runs at 4x. The 3870 would work better with better bandwidth but the 4x effective bandwidth won't make you run around pulling your hair out. There is an article about this on tomshardware. I'll see if I can bring it up.
Heres an article that might help alittle.http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...-0,1915-9.html
Remember that PCI-E 2.0 has double the bandwidth of PCI-E 1.1 so take that into consideration.
