First AMD build for friend.

Building a Computer for a friend and I need to know to know what you guys think of this list. I usually work with AMD but my friend wants nothing to do with Intel for his personal reasons.

I just want to run the parts by you guys and make sure I got a good combo.

Just need opinions on the board and CPU. What kind of overclock would I expect?

Is 430 Watts enough?

Dude, you don't want a Phenom, seriously.. expect a weak overclock.

I would assume 430 watts would be fine with those specs, but I would still get him a 500 watt since it's a little bit more.

Definitely go for a Phenom 9850 BE. With that board you should be able to reach 3.2Ghz or so. I would advise against the Thermaltake 430W and suggest the Corsair 520HX.

430 would be more than enough, except that turd of a PSU is an HEC OEM and has a hard enough time putting out 300W effectively.

I know what Phenoms are, it's not my choice, I'm just putting it together.
I'd like to stay within the set budget but thanks.

Let me rephrase this.
1. How far might I be able to OC the chosen CPU with this board?
2. 430 Watts is enough right?

If your are going to gaming pc choose cheaper cpu and better gpu.
The minimum in game is 4800+ so try to buy 5000+ BE and overclock it more then 3.2.
and nice Gpu like 3870 or wait for 4850 .

I would pick a 3870 or a 3850 as they both beat a 8600GT and the roughly the same price or you could wait the 4850 or 4870.
