Microsoft really needs to stop these practices of theirs, nobody likes them.
Windows still has a BSOD Image in peoples heads out there.
But this is not Microsofts fault but of Driver developers.
If MS had such strict rules back since the days of Win 95, we all would know Windows as THE stable OS.
Most PC users would rather pay some bucks more for their hardware than risking that it does crash the system!
Windows always been a very open OS.
That helped Software developers to get into it and made it popular.
But that also made Win open for bugs and attacks.
Unix is like the opposite, known to be extreme stable but also tricky to code for.
It is a very good thing MS changes Windows System Model to be less easy infective.
They already did a big step with Vista, btw
