The X1900 series was awesome......you're crazy!

Haaaaaaaoooooooomggggg

The 4870x2 will have 1600 shader processors!? That is just ludicrous.

Yeah.. X1950XTX spanked the 7900GTX.

The X1800 was not so hot, but the X1900 quickly fixed things up.

And the X850XTPE also beat the 6800 Ultra. It was only recently, with the release of the 8800GTX and the 2900XT that nvidia took a clear lead. So I don't know where all this nvidia fanboyism crap comes from. If we look back on the GPU timeline...

9800XT > 5950 Ultra
X850XTPE > 6800 Ultra
7950GX2 > X1950XTX > 7900GTX
8800GTX/Ultra/G92/9800GTX > 2900XT/3870
3870X2 > 8800GTX/Ultra/G92/9800GTX
9800GX2 > 3870X2

When did the fanboyism really kick in here?

Shader FLOPS alone dont mean much in games, but i bet it would do for some great GPGPU work.

Having 2.5x the shaders of the previous generation coupled with an improved core cannot hurt though. =]

Beginning/Middle of July is when my paychecks start pouring in so bring on the war!!!!!

I think that most of the fanboys are younger people that just started getting into PC hardware.....they read the back of a PC box and saw Intel and NVidia logos, then made up their mind
I typically prefer ATI, but I'll get NVidia if it's that much better.......TBH these 2900XTs are crazy fast with the OC I have on them, so I'm more than happy for some time. I'll probably upgrade Jan. of next year or so.

I haven't even OC'ed mine yet I don't know what I could expect out of it!

And i can agree with you about the Intel/Nvidia thing.

two years ago when i first started getting into the PC scene I had genuinely never heard of AMD or ATI.

In fact i didn't even know who Nvidia was, i just thought Geforce was the bee knees!
