Help to O/C my cpu

Thread Starter
I have just upgrades my pc to a Gigabyte GA DS3 P35 and Intel E8400 and i want to take the cpu from 3 ghz to about 3.4 to start with and hopefully when i get the hang of it 4 ghz.

My previous board was MSI 975x platinum with Intel E6600 cpu and there were very few O/C options, basically fsb and voltage but now with the new bios options for the GA P35 DS3 there are too many for me to understand what to do with them all.

If someone who knows my set up can guide me through the O/C process i would be eternally grateful

The 1st thing not to do is dont raise your vcore voltage above 1.3625V and most people dont push the voltages on any 45nm cpu's past 1.35 in the bios. Anything above that will seriously decrease the life of that cpu. Also use real temp to monitor your temps http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/
