Agreed...I just know I hate having to pull the cooler after I've got my system up and going. If there's an extra $10 - $15 in there...I still say get a slightly better cooler.

If you can't squeeze it in...then Chozart's rig suggestion is pretty good for the budget.

Depending on how much I have left (I don't have the money yet it was a budget set by my parents) I may be ably to buy that monitor with the current rig. The only problem I have with buying all parts from 1 place, is that sometimes you dont get the best deals. Also my other query is if a pentium duel core is good enough to run games? Which was why I went with a core 2 duo. Coreect me if I am wrong thoughh.

Also my set up topped at £485 inc. VAT and shipping which was why i would have some leaway with a monitor or cooling

The E2180 is a Core 2 Duo Intel recycled the Pentium name, and uses it for the E2xxx series now. The E2180 is a very nice chip, and generally an excellent overclocker. You won't regret it.

and do indeed shop around. Since I am in the US, I just picked one vendor that I know is reasonably priced overthere. However, when you shop around, keep an eye on shipping costs... It often happens that you save less than the increase in total shipping

lol the 22" would take up 1/2 the budget xD Thanks for the advice on the chip. I'll redo some calculations and see what numbers i can get.

Done some calculations editing certain things, even with the pentium duel core and a 19" it's still more expensive than my origional plan. Is the 19" really worth it?

imo: yes. See it as a more long-term investment. 17" wide is quite small...

well im using a 15" at the moment so a 17 wide would be a dramatic improvement. I'd also prefer to spend more on the inside.

Hang on...

I found a 20.1" on ebay for £87 inc VAT 5ms response. Any good?
