As both a gamer & CAD/CAM designer...I would prefer three 24inchers' in extend mode...but considering the price of 3-24'' lcds' $350per one 28'' @ $450 is not bad at all.

$ 1100 for the good stuff....1920 x 1200 X3....that's 63'' spread...OK~!

$ 450 one 28''...not bad...to start can always sell the 28'' and get the 3...24''...

Noo...I think I will sell my 22'' that I paid $370 fry's electronics and get 3-24'' in future~!!!
If you need a bigger screen to do well then fine, but that doesn't make it true for everybody. If I got a screen bigger than 24" I'd have to sit further from it because it's bigger than it needs to be for its resolution.

Honestly, you didn't answer my question....

I'll repeat it again...

"Bang for the buck... is it a suitable monitor?"

It is obvious that you have preferences for other (smaller) monitors, however this one still might have merit based on its value for what you do get (and not what is is lacking from other offerings that are not of an identical comparison.)

The pixel density is about 6500 pixels per square inch on this monitor. A 24" with the same resolution is 8900. Obviously there's a difference, but it's not as bad as you say. A (well, my own) 42" 1080p television has a pixel density of ~2750 and I use it from down to 5 feet away. It doesn't look like "crap".

Also, how does contrast ratio fit into this subject?

Yes, and then the deal went away, just like this one did. Don't use your bargain-bin deals in this type of discussion, they mean nothing.

Because the fact that I defended the monitor already should have answered the question, but that involves reading everything which you neglected to do.

And I'll repeat again: "size isn't everything." I don't care that the monitor is 28", I care that it's only 1920x1200 at that size, meaning the pixel pitch is ungodly large. It has nothing to do with preference for a smaller monitor, it has to do with preference for a better picture.

Just go to best buy and look at the 28" next to a 24"

As for stargaze he will argue to the bitter end, considering he hasn't ever actually used one or compared them side by side like I said go to bestbuy and you be the judge.

Honestly, I still don't understand your position in this thread. If you defended it previously as "Yes, it is a good bang for the buck" monitor, then just leave it at that.

Sure, you can say, "but hey... this other one which is smaller has some better features", however if someone is looking more for the size (i.e. being able to see smaller objects on the screen better) over what you consider a "better picture" quality, then why are you so furiously defending the opposing POV in this thread.

You've stated your positions on it, why not just leave it at that. Honestly, by your continued posts, you make it look like the monitor in question is not a quality product. Others say it is... every you said it was, so why all the extra dialogue? This is a "deal" thread... not really a pros and cons comparison versus other monitors thread. That kind of post would be found in the "Monitors and Displays" section of the Components forum and not in this "Online Deals" forum.

Just my opinion on that. Thanks for your time.
