Are my E6750 temps to high?

The idle temp is 35 Degrees and the Core 1 and 2 temp is 34 Degrees. Its at stock speeds. I have a Zalman 9500A 90mm. I think I might have to reseat it.

that sounds ok, What are ur ambient temps?

Stock and with the tuniq i idle at 25c. It's hot over here, and i'm under clocked to 2.0ghz
post #3 of 19
Like Z28 stated, we need your ambient temps to determine how good/bad those temps are. What compound are you using? How was it applied?

Also, idle doesn't matter much at all, what are your load temps running prime and ambient?

edit: Also, many people use too much TIM. Less is more, as they say. You want just enough to cover the dies in the center of the CPU. If you look at the base of a stock Intel cooler, notice that the center or the cooler (round part that covers the CPU) doesn't cover the entire IHS. Think of it when you apply TIM. When it spreads out, you ideally want an area just about the same size. I also recommend using the line method (size of an uncooked grain of rice across the center) I would apply some, mount the HSF and then remove to see what kind of spread you get. After a time or two of that, you'll have a good idea how much to use. GL

Yea, and I could care less about idle, whats your load temps?

Ok, you need to run Orthos or OCCT or even Everest's burn-in test and see what the temps are at 100% load after 5-10 at least.

I looks like it hot all over making your oc seem hot. My was 67c while folding so I had to down clock it to lower the temps a little.

Your ambient temp is the surrounding tempature of the room your pc is in, or building it is in. For instance I have my AC set to 68*f and in my basement which is where my pc is my ambient temp is around 63-67*f depending on time of day.

And the reason they matter is because the higher the ambient temp the less heat the ambient air can absorb from a heat source. It also proportionatly will raise the load temps of your cpu as the ambient temp raises. You can never cool something down below what the ambient temp is with air cooling or wc without some outside influence such as a water chiller or ac.

hope I explained that right. Anyone care to add or correct me feel free.

Easy way to find ambient is to use any kind of decent temp probe. or use a general estimate from say your thermostat's reading for your home oc unit.
