I booted my computer up this morning, got on, watched a few TV shows, did my morning Facebook routine and what not.. and my computer started to get really slow. Well I was watching my CPU performance, and it never got above 30 - 40%, so I couldn't figure out what was making it so slow.

So I figured a reboot might do the trick.

Reboot, and get the disk read error.

Well, I then had to reset everything to defaults, and reset CMOS to get back into Windows.

So I understand how to fix the problem, but I need help figuring out what is causing the problem. It's annoying to open this thing up all the time.
HDD activity? look at the HDD light when it starts slowing down, if its constantly reading/writing, then this could be the problem.. ..

It appears to be doing pretty normal activity. It acts pretty normal. Right now, its running just fine, no slowness or anything..

good.. remeber to check the activity when it starts slowing donw.. if you have vista, open Resource Monitor from taskmanager when it slows down and you'll identify the problem right away

Any ideas on the issue with DMI Pool Error?

I'm about to restart and attempt to get my FSB settings back to where they were without having that damned error again.

Again today. I just got into Vista, was trying to fix my network issue when everything lagged up. Was able to get Task Manager open and check Resource Monitor.. found nothing out of the ordinary really..

and then I had to reboot. And what do you know. Disk Read Error.
