Drifting in GRID?!

I've been playing the demo for a few days now and I still cannot drift for crap! First of all, they mention using the "e-brake". I'm guessing this is the handbrake? I spin out on practically every turn. Anyone got any advice?

Yeah, drifting is hard on the keyboard. Actually, the whole game is hard on the keyboard. Get yourself a cheap controller or something if you don't have one

you cant hold the ebrake just like in real life it only is used to start the drift. then the power of the car and steering do the rest of the work.

What kind of car are you trying to drive?

Some cars, especially those racing with slick tyres and with big wings generating huge downforce levels, simply don't benefit from drifting. Getting the tail to step sideways may "look" fast, but the car is simply wasting its friction by dissipating it in lateral acceleration.

Yes, I'm using a keyboard. Guess it's time to pick up one of those 360 controllers. And yes, I know the handbrake is only used at the beginning of the drift.

"e-brake" generally means the engine brake, which is when you downshift to slow yourself down (big 18-wheelers use this because the normal brakes aren't good enough). I think they mean the handbrake, which is generally space bar.

After lots of practice, I finally beat the drifting race in the GRID demo. FREAKEN HARD!!!
the idea is to keep your car sliding down the entire track, and you have to get as close as you can to the cones on the insides of the corners. Every two turns or so, you get another number added to your multiplier, and you can get up to 20,000 points for a perfect drift (very close to the cone).

it's alot easier if you turn off traction control, this way it will allow the rear wheels to slip, and so cause them to spin loosing grip and allowing for drift , just try hard not to spin ... fluctuating throttle works well once the rears are spinning and making lots of smoke

thats called engin braking and yes 18 whellers use it alot.

Ah. I actually do e-braking all the time then since I drive a standard transmission. I love slowing down using the engine.
